Also, we went on a field trip to the Rosa Parks Museum and the Civil Rights Memorial. Students used their photography skill to take pictures of the Rosa Parks Museum and the Civil Rights Memorial. On the way back, a student said, "This is the best field trip ever!" I believe this was a result of exploring the Civil Rights Movement through the "Time Machine Bus" as well as viewing the many artifacts. Therefore, through experiencing these historial facts first hand, this field trip expanded their understanding of the Civil Rights Movement.

Doesn't this prove that when we can relate learning to real life experiences, the students are more interested and more motivated? How I wish we could do these kinds of things in every subject area we teach--if only the time requirements would cooperate with us!
